Editor's Notes

by Una Moneypenny

We've really brought spring to a close with this second issue of the NICPRE Quarterly. As summer begins, I'm settling in as the new editor and moving the backlog along; you can expect the third quarter's newsletter to arrive on the heels of this issue.

We've designed this issue around the subject of export promotion of U.S. red meat, and MPP meat advertising in the Japanese market.

Cong Tru Le, Harry Kaiser, and William Tomek provided the lead article on Export Promotion and Import Demand . It covers the affect on U.S. markets of FAS, FMD, and TEA programs.
The inside story was contributed by Allison Comeau, Ron Mittlehammer, and Thomas Wahl. It concerns MPP meat advertising and promotion in the Japanese market.

Harry Kaiser's Director's Corner is a very informative look at export promotion for the U.S. today.

As always, I hope you enjoy this issue, and I welcome any comments or ideas for future issues.
