What Can We Learn from How the U.S. and Canada Milk Promotion Boards Evaluate the Many Components of Their Programs?

Editor's Notes

by Una Moneypenny

This issue of the NICPRE Quarterly includes an article from Phil Vande Kamp and Harry M. Kaiser that is a follow-up to a piece on asymmetric demand response that they contributed to the NICPRE Quarterly last January.

We've also included an article by Chanjin Chung and Harry M. Kaiser on the distribution of gains from checkoff programs with the assumption of pivotal rather than parallel shifts in retail demand and farm supply curves.

The fall 1999 meeting of NEC-63 will be in Ottawa, Canada this year, with the focus on "What Can We Learn from How the U.S. and Canadian Milk Promotion Boards Evluate the Many Components of Their Programs?" More details are available on the last page of this issue.

You'll also find a survey card enclosed with this issue; we hope you'll take the time to fill it out and send it back. We're interested in making the NICPRE Quarterly as useful a publication as possible.
